A Sticker Sensor, known as a Sticker Switch in the original LittleBigPlanet, is a sensor gadget that sends a signal when a player places a matching sticker or decoration onto the attached object.
Usage and behavior
The sticker sensor can be placed on any surface, including microchip circuit boards. In its default state, the sticker sensor flashes yellow until a selected sticker or decoration is present. When the player selects a sticker from their popit and hovers the cursor near the sensor, the light will either turn red if it's incorrect, or green if it's correct; if the player places the correct Sticker, a success fanfare will play and the sensor will output a digital ON signal.
The Sticker Switch will only detect a matching Sticker that is placed both inside its detection range and on its host object (or any object that is glued to it). In most games the Sticker Switch can be deactivated if the player removes the Sticker, but in LittleBigPlanet 3, once a valid Sticker is detected, removing it will not turn the sensor off again.
By default, any Sticker or Decoration the player has access to can trigger the sensor. However, creators can assign a specific Sticker or Decoration that is needed to trigger the sensor, which will then appear in a "Switch Triggers" category at the top of the Stickers and/or Decorations pages of the Popit.
