A Rail Hook is an object in LittleBigPlanet 3 that latches onto and travels along Bendy Rails, carrying any connected objects with them.

Tweaks

Properties

Hook Motion: (
Motorized •‎
Non-Motorized
)

Sets the behaviour of the Rail Hook.
Motorized
The Rail Hook propells itself along the rail based on the tweaks specified below.
Non-Motorized
The Rail Hook does not propell itself, relying instead on gravity, momentum and the rail's curvature to move.

Speed

Speed: (0.0 - 100.0)
Sets the Rail Hook's top speed. At 0.0, it will not move.
Pause: (0.0s - 86000.0)
Sets how long the Rail Hook waits at each end of the rail before moving again.
Reversed: (
No •‎
Yes
)

Reverses the Rail Hook's movement direction, e.g. right becomes left, and vice-versa.

Strength

Acceleration: (0% - 100%)
Sets how quickly the Rail Hook reaches its top speed.
Deceleration: (0% - 100%)
Determines how quickly the Rail Hook slows down.

Input Action

Input Action: (
On/Off •‎
Direction •‎
Positional •‎
Speed scale •‎
Single cycle
)

Determines how the Rail Hook responds to the signal it receives through its "Input Value" input.
On/Off
The Rail Hook starts moving when it receives a digital ON signal, and stops when turned OFF. How quickly it starts and stops is determined by is Strength tweaks.
Direction
When the Rail Hook receives a digital ON signal, it begins travelling in the direction of the rail's end point; if OFF, it goes in the opposite direction.
Positional
The Rail Hook moves to a specific point on the Bendy Rail depending on the analogue signal it recieves, e.g. 50% represents the half-way point on the rail.
Speed scale
The Rail Hook's speed is determined by the strength of the incoming analogue signal.
Single cycle
Each time the Rail Hook receives a digital ON signal, it performs one round trip before stopping at the rail's origin.

Visuals

Visible in Play Mode: (
No •‎
Yes
)

Determines whether or not the object will be rendered in Play Mode.

Audio

Mute: (
No •‎
Yes
)

Sets whether or not to play sound effects when travelling along rails, or when attaching/detaching from them.
