The Broadcast Microchip is a logic container that broadcasts its logic onto players or tagged objects.
Usage and Behavior
Tweaks
| Name: (text field; 256 characters) Sets a name for the Broadcast Microchip. If it is captured directly, this name will be used instead of the default "Some kind of object". |
Broadcast
| Broadcast Target: (
) Determines what objects the Broadcast Microchip will target:
|
Character
The following tweaks will appear if "Broadcast Target" is set to Creatures:
| Character to Detect: (Characters; My Characters) Select which character the Broadcast Microchip broadcasts its logic onto. If empty, any character can be targeted. |
| Creature Type: (
) Determines what kind of Sackthings the microchip will broadcast to:
|
| Detect Form: (
) If the chosen character is a changeling, e.g. Toggle, this determines which form the microchip will target. |
| Reset Select to clear the "Character to Detect" slot. |
Tag
The following tweaks will appear if "Broadcast Target" is set to Tag:
| Tag Colour: (
) Sets the colour channel for the gadget. Sensors will only detect Tags matching this colour. |
| Select or Tweak a Tag Label Opens a dialogue box to create a new Tag label, or select an existing one. |
Range
| Broadcast to: (
) Affects how the microchip broadcasts its logic. |
| Minimum Detection Range: (0.0 - 5,000.0) Determines how close the broadcast target can get before the microchip stops detecting them. |
| Maximum Detection Range: (0.0 - 5,000.0) Determines how close the boardcast target needs to be in order to activate the microchip; setting this below 0.0 will set the radius to infinite. |
| Trigger Angle Range: (0 - 360) Sets the angle radius of the Broadcast Microchip, with 360 being a full circle. Rotating the gadget changes the orientation of the detection range. |
| Layer Detection Range: (0 - 16) Sets how many layers away from the object the Broadcast Microchip can detect its target, with 0 being equivalent to "same layer". |
Trigger
The following tweaks appear if "Broadcast to" is set to All in Contact:
| Include Rigid Connections: ( ) If set to Yes, the Broadcast Microchip's contact range will include any objects that are directly glued to the chip's host object. |
| Include Touching: ( ) Determines whether getting touched by thin layers activates the Broadcast Microchip. |
Display
| Show Circuitboard: ( ) Opens or closes the Broadcast Microchip's circuitboard. |
| Stabilize Circuitboard: ( ) If set to Yes, the circuitboard will always remain upright, regardless of the microchip's orientation. |
Visuals
| Hide Outgoing Wires when Circuitboard is Closed: ( ) If set to Yes, outgoing wires will not be shown when the circuitboard is closed. |
| Electronics and Cable Visibility: (
) Determines whether or not the gadget (and any outgoing wires) will be rendered in Play Mode. |
