A Sticker Sensor, known as a Sticker Switch in the original LittleBigPlanet, is a sensor that sends a signal when a player places a matching Sticker or Decoration onto the attached object.
Usage and Behaviour
In its default state, the Sticker Sensor will flash yellow to indicate that it needs a Sticker. When the player pulls out a Sticker from their Popit and hovers the cursor near the sensor, the light will either turn red if it's incorrect, or green if it's correct; if the player places the correct Sticker, a success fanfare will play and the sensor will output a digital ON signal.
The Sticker Switch will only detect a matching Sticker that is placed both inside its detection range and on its host object (or any object that is glued to it). In most games the Sticker Switch can be deactivated if the player removes the Sticker, but in LittleBigPlanet 3, once a valid Sticker is detected, removing it will not turn the sensor off again.
By default, any Sticker or Decoration the player has access to can trigger the sensor. However, creators can assign a specific Sticker or Decoration that is needed to trigger the sensor, which will then appear in a "Switch Triggers" category at the top of the Stickers and/or Decorations pages of the Popit.
Tweaks
Item Choose a Sticker or Decoration for the Sensor to look for. Any Sticker or Decoration the player owns can be used, including custom ones. |
Range
Sticker Detection Mode (LBP3 Only): (
) Determines whether the Sticker Sensor checks for stickers attached to its host object, inside its detection range, or both. |
Maximum Detection Range: (0.0 - 5,000.0) Sets how close to the Sensor a Sticker needs to be placed to activate it. |
Output
Invert Output: ( ) Inverts the gadget's output, turning On signals Off and vice-versa. |
Electronics and Cable Visibility: (
) Determines whether or not the gadget (and any outgoing wires) will be rendered in Play Mode. |
