To do: The Throwable Handle in the Alpha is in a more functional state. Compare this to what's left in the final game, and check the other prototypes to figure out when it stopped working.

The Throwable Handle is a unused gadget found in the data of LittleBigPlanet 3, which can be attached to objects to turn them into throwable Sackpocket Items. Of the four scrapped powerup handles, this is the only one with any unique surviving functionality in the final game.

Usage and Behaviour

Throwable Handles can be placed onto any surface, but have no immediate functionality until the attached object is captured using the Capture Sackpocket Item Tool; from there, it can be given to players through a Powerup Pedestal, a Sackpocket Pedestal, or a Sackpocket Tweaker. When equipped, Sackboy will hold the powerup at the point on the object where the Throwable Handle was placed. If there are multiple handles attached to the same object, Sackboy will grab whichever one was placed first.

Despite having three outputs, only the top one appears to do anything. It outputs an analogue signal based on how far Right stick is pushed in any direction (representing throw strength); when the player presses R1 button to throw the object, the analogue signal cuts out and a permanent digital ON signal takes its place.

As with the Blaster Handle, the Throwable Handle has a circuitboard that can be revealed by pressing R1 button whilst hovering over it with the Popit Cursor.

Tweaks

Properties

Tweak Movement Acceleration.png
Max Throw Strength: (0% - 100%)
This tweak is mislabelled in-game; it actually sets how quickly Sackboy's hand follows the direction of Right stick. If set to 0%, it is impossible to aim the powerup.
Tweak Emitter Timing Lifetime.png
Lifetime: (0.0s - 86,400.0s)
Supposedly sets how long the thrown object should stay in the scene before despawning. Doesn't appear to do anything in practice.
Tweak Placeholder V.png
Show Arc: (

YesYes
)

Determines whether or not to show a coloured arc when aiming with Right stick.

Behaviour

Tweak Blaster Allow Grab.png
Allow Grabbing /Climbing: (

)

If set to Yes, and if the powerup is equipped through the Sackpocket, Sackboy will put the powerup away when pressing R1 button in the viscinity of grabbable/climbable materials. Otherwise, Sackboy will be prevented from interacting with such objects while the powerup is equipped.

Visuals

Determines whether or not the object will be rendered in Play Mode.

Audio

Enable Sounds: (

Supposedly sets whether or not to play sounds. Doesn't appear to do anything in practice.
