The Meerkat Kingdom is the third and final main level of the Savannah. The level contains a partially nonlinear, maze-like structure with an abundance of hidden secrets and obstacles to traverse.

Plot overview

After King Croc insists that he did not eat Meerkat Mum's son, Stripy Tail, Sackboy ventures down into the Meerkat Kingdom to investigate Stripy's disappearance. In truth, Stripy Tail wandered off to the nearby club, where Sackboy finds and collects him before reuniting him with his mother. Impressed with Sackboy's work in reuniting the meerkat family, the Wobbly Ape insists he take a trip to the Wedding to mend a troubled relationship between creator curator Frida and her groom.

Walkthrough guide

The Meerkat Kingdom begins by requiring the player to go left of the entrance. Ignoring this irregularity and proceeding to the right reveals a small cavern with a Sticker Switch activated with the Fluffy Tree sticker. Activating the switch causes the ceiling above to collapse and fill the pit below, dropping five prize bubbles in the process. Continuing to the left, just past the close-level post is a pit filled with breakable material that will speed your descent, along with a single loose Prize Bubble. Falling all the way to the bottom brings the player to a start gate opening up into a maze of score bubbles. Players can take their time collecting all the score bubbles within the small maze or continue forward for a quick finish at the end gate. A Prize Bubble can be revealed by dislodging a piece of Styrofoam within the maze.

Continuing to the right brings the player to yet another pit. Grabbing onto a branch suspended over the pit reveals three Prize Bubbles guarded by spikes. The pit opens up to reveal a small, cavernous area filled with score bubbles, four Prize Bubbles, and a key, all of which can be obtained by bouncing on meerkats inside the floor. The way forward is filled with more collapsable terrain, as well as three Prize Bubbles that can be grabbed by swinging on branches and breaking the surrounding area. Certain Prize Bubbles can be missed if terrain is broken in such a way that the player cannot climb back up. Finally reaching the bottom of the pit levels out to two branching paths; the left path leads to a x2 multiplayer puzzle, and the right continues with the level's progression.

The x2 multiplayer puzzle is divided into two parts. The first part involves opening a hatch, in which one player must weigh down the farther side of the hatch for the second player to enter, followed by the second player grabbing a sponge below to reopen the hatch. With both players inside, one must keep a piece of elastic-connected sponge pulled to provide leverage for the other to hop up and collect the Prize Bubbles above. Although not explicitly labeled as such, a second somewhat multiplayer-oriented challenge can be found immediately after, with two big-belly meerkats placed in the floor below. One player must stand on the big-belly meerkat's face while the other jumps on its belly to launch the other player into the air; two Prize Bubbles can be obtained in the first area involving this puzzle.

Following the tunnel down past two Prize Bubbles leads to the Meerkat Mum's den, where she refuses to let the player proceed without her son, Stripy Tail. Along the way to the club, meerkats can be found blocking caches filled with score and Prize bubbles. Right before the club, a hidden Sticker Switch can be activated with the Growl Face sticker to reveal a single Prize Bubble. The meerkat club is a large, open space with a high ceiling filled with three hidden Prize Bubbles, all of which can be obtained in a similar fashion to the x2 multiplayer challenge before. Bouncing on the big-belly meerkats provides enough height to reach the bubbles above. Upon grabbing Stripy tail in the VIP room, these big-belly meerkats provide a means of dragging Stripy out of the club. As you proceed back to the Meerkat Mum, the magnetic key attached to Stripy tail will unlock the caches previously blocked by meerkats.

With Stripy returned to his mother, the Meerkat Mum provides passage out of the meerkat kingdom through a tunnel filled with three Prize Bubbles. Players must bounce on the meerkats to exit the vertical tunnels, which contain with three Prize Bubbles, a key, and a Sticker Switch activated with the Voodoo Face sticker to unlock a single Prize Bubble. Breaking out of the kingdom's tunnels past three final Prize Bubbles brings the player to the scoreboard.
