Tunnel Plunge is the fourth score challenge level in The Savannah.
Overview
At the start of the level, Little Xim gives the player a rundown of the challenge, and a Race Gate is present that starts a race with a 60-second time limit. Beyond that is a short vertical segment that sends the player along crumbling rocks; sponges on twigs are in that same vertical segment to help the player swing across the rocks. After a short fall, the player will find themself in a cavernous area with rocks - one of which is made of sponge - attached to the wall via Motor Bolts and spinning rapidly, which the player will need to evade to finish the race.
After evading the rocks, the player will then slide around on glass at rapid speeds, then get bounced upwards by a meerkat just in time to avoid a hazardous spike pit. After this is a narrow tunnel abundant with crumbling rocks, at the end of which is a sponge on a twig that the player can swing on to advance. Going down yet another tunnel, the player will need to tread carefully and avoid the many spikes in the section of the level, and once the player reaches two bolted platforms that tip them down into another tunnel, they will need to dodge more rotating rocks (three of which are made of sponge this time) on the way down.
The player will fall onto a bolted platform, which is above another platform with spikes in the middle, and they can either go left or right depending on which side of the platform they land on. After a short fall from another bolted platform, they find themself on a ramp of glass that accelerates their speed enough to leap through a barrier made of two bolted walls; beyond this is the Finish Gate and the Scoreboard, which the player can pass, completing the level.
