The Bunker is the second main level of the Wilderness theme. It tests the player with careful timing and forethought when platforming through unforgiving obstacles.
Overview
Plot overview
Sackboy infiltrates the Collector's bunker and navigates through his war factory. Nearing the end, Sackboy frees the captive Scientist - a creator imprisoned and forced to design the deadly contraptions defending the Collector's battlements.
Walkthrough guide
The Bunker begins in a large, safe space preceding the gauntlet of obstacles throughout the rest of the level. The soldier sits next to the level's entrance and can be dragged and hopped on to reach two prize bubbles on the platform above. Past the close-level post is the first obstacle - a multi-spear machine. The machine will periodically open and close, emitting a warning sound when rising from the floor. While the sides of the multi-spear machine are lethal from electricity, the top of the machine is safe at all times. When the machine rises, a well-timed jump gives enough height to reach the two prize bubbles and surrounding score bubbles above; following the multi-spear machine is the next checkpoint.
Past the second checkpoint is a lone wiper enemy that provides an idle threat if not approached carefully. Just past it is the second series of obstacles, in the form of three multi-spear machines. The three machines activate and deactivate from left to right, requiring the player to run through quickly. If caught in the middle of two machines, there are small gaps between machines that provide safety from the protruding spears. Escaping this narrow corridor requires the player to launch themself off the third machine to the upper platform; the third checkpoint and a lone double-wiper enemy are placed just after.
The following obstacle is brief, involving a rotating tube with two exit points. Staying inside the tube allows the player to collect score bubbles, and maneuvering to the top of the tube leads to two prize bubbles. The floor below the tube is electrified and will kill players that fall down into it. The next checkpoint lies just after this.
The next obstacle is focused on careful timing, involving a twisty platform over an electrified floor. The obstacle is divided into fast-rotating platforms that alternate between horizontal and vertical configurations. Keeping pace over the horizontal platforms leads to the end of the obstacle, a prize bubble, and the next checkpoint. Before the next obstacle is a flip-top enemy and a prize bubble; the prize bubble can only be reached by bouncing off the flip-top enemy's creature brain. The next obstacle involves rotating hemispheres, through which the player must run without falling into the electricity below. While moving through quick enough can allow the player to clear the obstacle quicker, playing it safe by grabbing the hanging sponge suspended between the four hemispheres lowers the risk of death. Hidden behind this obstacle are two prize bubbles that can only be reached by using the next obstacle - rotating iron bridges.
The two bridges rotate in a desynchronized pattern; between the two hangs a key, and the first of the two can be jumped off of mid-rotation to reach the aforementioned prize bubbles. These iron bridges are the wheels to a giant tank, up which the player can climb to reach an open space with multiple opportunities to collect prizes. Placing the power fist sticker on the matching sticker switch raises a platform to the top of the tank, where three prize bubbles sit. Hopping on the button on the tank's cannon launches bombs to blow open a cache of five prize bubbles. To the left of the tank is a x2 and x3 multi-player challenge. The multi-player challenge involves rotating four tubes with lever switches. The full puzzle can be completed in this sequence: lower-right, lower-left, upper-right, lower-left, upper-right. Three players are required to collect all seven prize bubbles in the puzzle. Continuing on from this area leads to a checkpoint and five metal spears positioned vertically and horizontally. The inconsistent pattern in which the spears protrude requires careful platforming to avoid being killed. Timing a jump off the middle-raised platform leads to a prize bubble.
Past the next checkpoint are two flip-top enemies and a lone double-wiper enemy; bouncing off the lone double-wiper enemy's creature brain gives enough height to reach a raised prize bubble. Performing a similar technique on the third enemy leads to an elevated platform with three prize bubbles, and a small shortcut over the next obstacle. A circular platform with an electrified floor rotates between angles, rolling a cart from one end to the other. The player must ride the cart between sides, being careful not to fall off.
Past another prize bubble and a checkpoint are three spinning electric platforms that once again require timing to overcome. Past a triple-decker enemy is a rotating tube that the player can ride up to collect a total of seven prize bubbles. This tube contains multiple electrified metal circles and leads to a pit that separates the level in two. Falling down this pit leads to a conveyor belt traveling to the right, which the player can ride through to the next area. Along the way, four prize bubbles can be collected between metal spears. The next area contains a triple-decker enemy, and the proceeding area can only be reached by pulling down on a lever switch - doing so frees the scientist and drops a prize bubble.
The path through leads to the wheel - the longest, most intensive trial in the level. Escaping the wheel involves finding your way through its three layers, starting from the center and moving outwards. The first layer is brief, requiring small jumps over electricity hazards. The second layer is much of the same, albeit with blockages that hinder player movement, and hanging sponges that help players clear hazards. The final, outer-most layer is the longest, containing small electric hazards and ascending stair platforms. While the numerous obstacles within the wheel are simple on their own, they become drastically more complex when accounting for the wheel's constant rotation and speed. Many hazards' danger increases and decreases at certain points in the wheel's rotation, with a few platforms being made of grabbable sponge to compensate for this. If the player dies at any point in the wheel, they will respawn at one of two checkpoints inside it. Upon reaching the end of the third layer, a large opening can be found which, when timed correctly, lines up with a hole leading down to a second conveyor belt.
The final conveyor belt is fundamentally the same as the previous, this time exiting out to the scoreboard.

Trivia
- The tricky platforming and punishing design of the Bunker led to its infamous status as one of the most difficult levels in the LittleBigPlanet series, particularly when acing.
