To do: think of something mildly witty to put in here.

To do:

  • Cover prerelease information in the History section.
  • List the scrapped Score/Survival challenges that were originally intended for The Wedding.
  • Add short summaries of the plot of both Serpent's Shrine and Mine the Gap in History section.
  • List The Wedding's Prototype Objects in the scrapped prizes section.
  • Get screenshots of all of the theme's Prototype Objects for the gallery section.
This article is about the "Mexico Desert" theme from the original LittleBigPlanet. For "Mexico Graveyard", the sistering Mexico theme, see the Wedding.

Plot overview

Sackboy joins newlyweds Frida and Don Lu for their honeymoon in the Canyons but learns soon after arriving that Don Lu's uncle Jalapeño has been captured by the corrupt sheriff Zapata. Sackboy frees Jalapeño from the town jail, and the two pursue Zapata deep into the Canyons' Aztec ruins, where Zapata is defeated in a last stand. Exhausted by the ordeal, Jalapeño offers a trip to the Metropolis.

History

Post-release

While the theme itself did not make a playable appearance in LittleBigPlanet PSP, some of it's items can be purchased as downloadable content in the Canyons Theme Pack.

In LittleBigPlanet Karting, The Canyons would make a major playable appearance in the LittleBigPlanet theme, appearing as the main location of Serpent's Shrine, Mine the Gap, and their respective VS counterparts. Alongside this, all of The Canyons' standalone items can be collected in the Story mode and freely used in user created levels.

Like all other LittleBigPlanet and LittleBigPlanet 2 themes, The Canyons would have been playable in LittleBigPlanet HUB either by purchasing the theme alone or by owning a copy of the original LittleBigPlanet.

The Canyons appears as the third and sixth areas in Run Sackboy! Run!, and is the debut area of the Glider powerup and the Missile enemy.

  • The Canyons has the greatest total number of levels at nine. This is largely taken up by its five score challenges, which is also the most given to a single theme.
