Zola is a major character in LittleBigPlanet, and the creator curator of The Savannah.

History

LittleBigPlanet

Zola is first mentioned by The King at the end of Skate to Victory, just before the first level of The Savannah.

After surfacing from underwater, the royal submarine crashes into and destroys one of Zola's statues, and after finding him in his tree palace, Sackboy is ordered by Zola to find what is spooking the buffalo as a repayment for the statues destruction.

Zola appears along with the other Creator Curators and characters in The Collector's Lair, having been kidnapped by The Collector. He is the seventh person to be rescued and gives Sackboy his character prize after being saved near the start of the level.

General information

Physical appearance

Zola's main body is made of a patterened material Zig-zag Fabric, and his animalistic legs are decorated with wood carved protections, and claws tip the end of his feet. His muzzle shape is of Coco Wood, and his mouth and nose are created with a lineart sticker and a realistic lion nose with whiskers. The back piece of his head where his eyes and ears are, is also where his mane made of feathers and jewelry protrudes from. Lastly, a dark wood crown sits atop his head and finishes his regal look.

Personality

Zola isn't ever seen to have much of a personality, and usually just acts in a way that suits his job as King of The Savannah.

Trivia

• Zola only ever appears in two levels in the entire franchise, and despite being the Creator Curator, he only appears in The Savannah once. A Wobbly Ape instead fills the role that The King held in The Gardens; a sort of guide that shows up regularly.
• In earlier builds of LittleBigPlanet, Zola was a gibbon instead of a lion. This is mentioned in multiple instances, including in his unused polaroid picture. In the LittleBigPlanet Karting side level, Savannah Rally, Zola doesn't make an appearance at his throne and instead a gibbon dressed up as him, referencing his old design.
