— Level description |
Lowrider is the first primary level in The Metropolis. In this level, after helping out Uncle Jalapeño in The Canyons, Sackboy drives out to The Metropolis to meet Jalapeño's friend Mags. Not all goes according to plan.
Overview
After making a brief pit stop, Sackboy takes control of Jalapeño's lever-controlled ride and drives it to the city. Making your way through a couple of ramps, you'll crash right into Mags the Mechanic's repair shop, where she advises you head to her garage to pimp out your busted up ride.
Heading out from the shop, the big city lays before you, full of prize bubbles, swinging traffic lights, and explorable spots. Traveling towards the scrapyard, the many lowriders scattered around can be used to propel you upwards to reach hidden spots and otherwise proceed with the level. Eventually, you'll encounter a gate that requires you to pull a lever. Drive the nearby lowrider over, bounce off the hood, and you'll be able to continue.
The scrapyard is full of tight squeezes, rolling wheels, and electric hazards, but also holds an abundance of goodies. Overcoming these challenges will bring you to Mag's garage where she'll provide you with a custom ride and numerous decorations that you can use to your heart's content. Mags explains how her beloved car has been stolen by Ze Dude and his Bouncers, before sending you on your way to win it back in a race.
Ze Dude taunts your ride but accepts the challenge, nonetheless. Racing Ze Dude is simple: just floor it to reach the finish line first. However, Ze Dude foolishly drives towards an unfinished bridge, sending him and Mag's ride down into the drink. Distraught, Mags insists you travel down to the Subway to retrieve her wheels.
