Safety first!
This page is a work in progress. As a result, the layout and/or content herein may be subject to change.
To do: The player's position is factored into the progress calculation somehow when both a Time Limit and Hits Limit are enabled; I'm just not sure how to put it into words.

The Progress Sensor is a sensor gadget in LittleBigPlanet Karting that outputs a signal based on how close a player is to finishing a race.

Usage and Behaviour

The Progress Sensor is dependent on player data to function, and thus can only be placed onto a Spawn Point; it will track whichever player spawns there. The sensor outputs a digital ON signal once the player has a non-0 progress value, and an analogue signal based on how close they are to one of the limits specified on the Gameplay Settings page of Global Settings (Time, Score, Hits, or Number of Laps).

Progress is defined differently depending on the game mode: in a race, the only thing that counts as "progress" is how many laps the player has done relative to the level's lap count. In a battle, progress is based on how close the player is to reaching the Time, Score and Hit Limits specified in the level's Global Settings. For example, if the Hits Limit is set to 10, and player has hit two karts with weapons, their progress will be 20%. If the level has a Time Limit in place, it increments "progress" for every player in the game as it gets closer to running out.
