The Pathfinder is an Object Tweaker gadget in LittleBigPlanet Karting that tells AI racers how to navigate around the object it is attached to.

Usage and Behaviour

The coloured bounding boxes created by the Pathfinder as they appear in Create Mode (top row) and Live Mode (bottom row)

A Pathfinder can be attached to most objects. It has no input or outputs, and if nested inside a Microchip, it will not turn off when its host loses power.

A cuboid wireframe surrounds the attached object, which changes colour depending on its type; this bounding box is normally only visible in Create Mode, but can be seen in Test Drive and Play Mode if the "Draw Navigation Map" option is checked in the Settings menu.

In addition to AI racers, this gadget also informs the pathfinding for homing weapons, some Self Weaponizers (including the Boxing Glove and Fast Forward) and the Auto Pilot drive mode in the Handling Tweaker.

Tweaks

Type: ( Driveable •‎ Ignore •‎ Obstacle •‎ Driveable Obstacle ) Determines how the AI drivers will treat this object during a race. Driveable AI racers will drive over the object if they can. The bounding box turns green in this mode. Ignore AI racers will completely ignore the object, behaving as though it doesn't exist. The bounding box turns grey in this mode. Obstacle AI racers will actively avoid the object if they can. The bounding box turns red in this mode. Driveable Obstacle AI racers will try to avoid driving into the object, but will drive on top of it if they land on it. The bounding box turns yellow in this mode.

Include Rigid Connections: ( No •‎ Yes ) If set to Yes, the Pathfinder will affect any objects that are in the same group as its host.

Visible in Play Mode: ( No •‎ Yes ) Determines whether or not the object will be rendered in Play Mode.
