The Illuminator is a Sackpocket Item in LittleBigPlanet 3. It is a custom powerup made with the Blaster Handle that serves to light up dark areas and activate secret portraits throughout Adventure Mode.

Overview

The Illuminator is one of five default powerups that are selectable on the Sackpocket Items page of Global Stuff. In Adventure Mode, it is given to the player after purchasing five costumes from any of Zom Zom's Shops. In order to use it in a user-made level, the player must place a Powerup Pedestal or Sackpocket Pedestal, and put the Illuminator in its Adventure Item slot.

The Illuminator can be aimed in any direction with , while holding turns the light on, illuminating the surrounding area and shining a concentrated beam of light at whatever it's pointed at. This beam of light has a green Tag labelled "light beam" attached to it, which can be picked up by an Impact Sensor or Tag Sensor to detect when the player shines the Illuminator at it.
