Yellow Head is a common outfit that appeared in the original LittleBigPlanet. The outfit replaces Sackboy's model for a flat, two-dimensional character.
Costume pieces
Only one costume piece is included in this outfit set, awarded by acing the Collector.
History
The Yellow Head outfit serves as a callback to Media Molecule's first ever prototypes for LittleBigPlanet, one of which was simply referred to as "CraftWorld." Serving as a demonstration of physics-based platforming that would later go on to be one of LittleBigPlanet's defining features, the prototype starred Mr. Yellow Head as its main "protagonist."
The prototype worked in an exclusively two-dimensional play space, simplifying Mr. Yellow Head's design to a collection of simple shapes that could interact with the environment around them. While LittleBigPlanet eventually moved on to adopt 3D-rendered graphics, models, and physics simulations, Mr. Yellow Head still made an appearance in the form of an aced-level gift on the final level of the story mode, The Collector. When worn, their outfit fully converts Sackboy to their 2D sprite appearance, albeit with additional features that allows them to be compatible with LittleBigPlanet's 3D environment.
