Frida the Bride is a major character in LittleBigPlanet, and the Creator Curator of The Wedding.

History

LittleBigPlanet

Frida is referred to by the Wobbly Ape in The Meerkat Kingdom, as another Creator who could use the help of someone with a knack of reuniting families.

Frida is again mentioned by The Butler in The Wedding Reception who explains the desperate nature of Frida's wedding, and that the groom has gone missing before the ceremony. Frida appears at the end of the level, informing Sackboy of rumours that Don Lu had ventured into the dark crypts beneath the reception. Frida follows the player in down the ladder into The Darkness and provides Don Lu's dog to guide the player through the depths, entrusting Sackboy with the faithful pet so that her soon-to-be husband may be found. Before Don Lu can be retrieved from underground, she goes mad with rage and mounts her terrifying Skulldozer, in a hasty assumption that the groom had left her at the altar. Emerging from the underground in Skulldozer, The Butler warns that Frida is going on a vicious rampage, using her Skulldozer as a destructive battering ram for any structure that gets in her way. After the chase sequence, Frida's Skulldozer falls into a large pit, and Frida begins to understand the mistake she made, joining Don Lu in their honeymoon vehicle at last.

In Boom Town Frida and Don Lu travel with the player to The Canyons in their heart-shaped honeymoon vehicle, before taking off again once the player leaves the craft. Later she can be seen just past Uncle Jalapeño's jail cell getting stolen away by The Collector along with Don Lu after dining in a restaurant.

Frida appears lastly in The Collector's Lair, trapped in a cell together with Don Lu and The Butler, and thanks the player for releasing them all. All 3 of them give the player their character prizes in a section at the end of the level.

LittleBigPlanet 2

Frida and Don Lu's Dog both appear as cameo appearances in the Eve's Asylum level Patients Are A Virtue, as hospitalised versions of themselves after being infected by The Negativitron. Frida's main features, such as her hair, flower crest and flower bouquet are recreated with LittleBigPlanet 2 stickers, and she wears a new hospital dress much like the other cameo characters in this level.

LittleBigPlanet Karting

Frida makes an appearance in the pre-race cutscene of After the Wedding, crying and distressed after coming back from her honeymoon with Don Lu to find all their wedding presents stolen by The Hoard. She also appears in the audience bleachers in King's Castle along with other cameo characters.

LittleBigPlanet 3: The Journey Home

Frida returns for The Journey Home Premium Level Kit as a major character and the first to recieve a fully voice acted makeover. She serves as a guide throughout Bone-a-Fide Ride riding on a cart in the background of the level with Don Lu, and speaks out sometimes. She shows up again later in From Chaos to Cakes alongside all the other party participants and makes a sarcastic comment in tandom with Clive and The King. As the party participants snap photos of the festivities, Frida can be seen cautiously offering Don Lu to OddSock as if to use him as a dog bone, or else let the dog-like creature munch on her instead. She also serves as the instructor for the Multiplayer Race: Think In Sync, where she is seen first atop a hanging platform, and then to the right of Mags the Mechanic's party invitation at the end of the level, holding her and Don Lu's baby.

General information

Physical appearance

Frida does not have skin, and is a skeleton made of wood. Her remaining eye bounces around in a cavity in her skull, and her mouth is caked with lipstick around the lips. Her nose hole is made out of a 'C' sticker, and her eyelashes are another sticker around her eye hole. Her hair drapes out under a crest hat decorated with red flowers, and she holds marigolds by her bottom in a bouquet. She wears a white wedding dress, dotted with sequin patterns by her hips, and her skeletal spine pokes through the back of the garment.

Personality

Frida is known to be a loud and enthusiastic person, especially in her return in The Journey Home, where her tone of voice is much more evident. She is very sporadic, and overreacts to small events, but means well as most Creator Curators tend to do.

Trivia

Frida may have Scopophobia - the fear of being watched. In The Journey Home, she urges the player to move along quickly since she says it makes her nervous to have someone looking at her.
The inspiration for Frida's name could possibly be the Mexican painter and artist Frida Kahlo.
None of her gibberish voices mention her by name, as in LittleBigPlanet (PlayStation 3), they are listed as 'Zombie Bride (happy)' and '(crying)'. In LittleBigPlanet (PlayStation Portable) and LittleBigPlanet Karting they drop the first word of the name, and in LittleBigPlanet PlayStation Vita, they're both called different variations of 'Old Woman.'
