Eve's Asylum is the fifth theme of LittleBigPlanet 2, and the creation of Eve Silva Paragorica.

Overview

Description

Eve's Asylum expands on the gadgets introduced in the previous four themes, where players must use power-ups like the creatinator to put out fires, or harness creatures using the controlinator to move through levels.

Plot overview

After embarking on a recovery mission from Avalonia, Sackboy and Clive Handforth arrive at Eve's Asylum For The Mentally Alternative in search of Dr. Herbert Higginbotham. However, they find that they are too late, as the Negativitron razes the tree containing the asylum's main facilities, sending meanies down into its chakras to destroy it from the inside out. Eve Silva Paragorica offers her assistance in finding Dr. Higginbotham in exchange for ridding her tree of meanies.

The three travel up to the burning asylum, where Sackboy helps clear out the fires threatening its inhabitants. After taking care of the last meanies guarding the way to Dr. Higginbotham's chamber, Eve holds up her end of the deal by sending Sackboy into Dr. Higginbotham's body to cure his mind of infection induced by the Negativitron.

Theme overview

The theme is centered around spiritual and religious worldviews, modern art, and 1970s Western cultural movements such as the New Age, with an organic aesthetic inspired by the Art Nouveau style and particularly the works of Gustav Klimt.

Eve Silva Paragorica is the titular creator curator of Eve's Asylum. She is the asylum's caretaker and looks after those suffering from ailments caused by the Negativitron and its meanies.
