LittleBigPlanet 2 originally launched with 47 trophies to unlock, however, various post-launch expansions would include their own set of trophies to bolster that number. The Move Pack included an additional 11 trophies, with the Muppets Premium Level Kit, Cross-Controller Pack and DC Comics Premium Level Kit all adding 7 trophies each, bringing the final total up to 79. As with the original LittleBigPlanet, the trophies in downloadable level kits are not required for, or counted towards, the platinum trophy.

LittleBigPlanet 2 was also the first title to tie trophies to in-game Pins; earning trophy-marked Pins will automatically unlock the corresponding trophy.

Note that due to a permanent server closure, 25 trophies that required an internet connection can no longer be obtained legitimately.
