Pins

Pins are in-game achievements that are earned for completing challenges, reaching certain milestones or making significant contributions to the community. They appear in LittleBigPlanet 2, LittleBigPlanet PS Vita and LittleBigPlanet 3, and while many of them are optional, some are linked to PlayStation Network Trophies, which are awarded when their respective Pins are unlocked in-game. Up to three Pins can be displayed on a user's profile picture, allowing players to show off their proudest achievements.

Interface

The My Pins screen can be accessed from the Me section of the Pod Computer. Pins are grouped into multiple pages based on how and where they are obtained, which can be navigated by pressing L1 or R1 to switch to the next or previous page. Selecting a Pin with X brings up a menu where the player can assign it to one of the Profile Pin slots on their polaroid, with any empty slots (represented by a Tweak Base NPC Brain Icon.png brain icon) being occupied by up to three of their most recent Pins.

The front page of the My Pins screen is used to display the player's six most recently awarded pins, as well as a selection of Pins that the player has not yet unlocked. If the player has earned every available Pin, including all the Secret Pins, the "Nearly There" section will display a message reading "You've collected them all!"

Beyond the front page, each game has at least five pages for the different types of Pins that can be earned:

Play - Story Pins are unlocked through playing the official Story mode levels.
Play - General Pins are similarly earned through playing the game. In contrast to Story pins, these are focused on general gameplay features and community levels.
Create Pins are unlocked through Create Mode, either by using various tools or by meeting certain milestones with published levels.
Share Pins are unlocked by socializing and engaging with the online community.
Secret Pins are hidden until the player unlocks them, and are typically reserved for easter eggs, time-sensitive events, special recognition, or otherwise have requirements which don't fit into the other categories.

Any additional pages beyond these are usually reserved for downloadable content. In LittleBigPlanet 3, page 7 features Pins which are exclusive to the PlayStation 4 version of the game, while pages 10 and beyond contain Pins carried forward from LittleBigPlanet 2.

Legend

  • This Pin (or one of its thresholds) unlocks a PSN Trophy of this colour.
  • This Pin requires non-level DLC in order to unlock. Click on the icon to visit the page about the required pack.
  • This Pin cannot be earned through normal play, and must be awarded manually by the developers.

Lists of Pins

In total, there are at least 617 unique Pins to unlock across all three games that support them (excluding unused/removed Pins and unreleased games).
