The adventure begins! An idyllic Craftworld afternoon is interrupted by a cosmic disturbance from across the Imagisphere. What could it be? Maybe it's cake! (It's not cake.)

— Level description
|
Introduction is the first level in LittleBigPlanet 3, which serves both as an opening credits sequence, and a quick tutorial for the game's core platforming controls.
In the initial release of the game, this was the first level that players would load into when starting a new profile. However, since Game Update 1.22, new players start in their Pod instead.
Overview
As the first level in LittleBigPlanet 3, Introduction acts as the game's opening credits and basic controls tutorial. Much of the level's aesthetic consists of a white void with stripes of solid pastel colours and circular windows showing abstract scenes. Towards the end, the player emerges onto a Gardens-esque scene set on Craftworld. Continuing further to the right begins a cutscene in which Newton creates a Dimensional Doorway that sends Sackboy to Bunkum, leading into the first cutscene level: The Legend of Bunkum.
During the last playable section, the player passes under a tree with two cardboard birds, each with a Sticker Sensor on them. These can be activated with the Chicken sticker earned from Even Bosses Wear Hats Sometimes, revealing a set of Prize Bubbles when they fly away.

Controls Tutorial
| Narrator
|
When you visit LittleBigPlanet™ you become your true and pure self; a cuddly, excitable adventurer called a Sackperson. And this is you. What a cracker! Use the LEFT STICK to move your Sackperson. A little tippy tappy for a shuffle and a somewhat more substantial push for a bound. Take a run and jump why don't you! You do it by pressing the ACTION BUTTON. A quick tap for hippity hop and a long press for a lippity leap. Marvelous!

Customizing Tutorial
| Narrator
|
Transporting one's self from the Earthly plateau to the realm of LittleBigPlanet™ is akin to being born again. You emerge here a bundle of naked woolly innocence. The operative word being 'naked.' Put some clothes on that say, 'I mean business, buster.' Get some gad-about-trousers or an adventurer's hat for example. To do so, bring up your POPIT with the MENU BUTTON and select the CUSTOMISE CHARACTER OPTION. From there you can peruse its contents with the LEFT STICK and don your chosen attire with the ACTION BUTTON. Once you are suitably suited and booted having raided your boutique, a press of the BACK BUTTON shows off your new togs to your peers… If you live by the sea that is.

Acting Tutorial
| Narrator
|
Have you noticed that sack personages, as they gad about the Imagisphere, all wear a pokerface, because they're concentrating on the task in hand. Well, it doesn't have to be like that all the time you know. You can change your expressions using the DIRECTIONAL BUTTONS. It's easy. Press the UP BUTTON to show us your winning smile. The DOWN BUTTON brings out a frown. The RIGHT BUTTON brings out your cross face whilst the LEFT BUTTON makes you look scared. You can nod and shake your head by waving your controller around, and even switch to control of your hips by clicking the LEFT STICK. Get a wiggle on why don't you. As if that wasn't enough try pressing the LIMB BUTTONS and using the LEFT STICK and RIGHT STICK. Look, you're waving. Yes, very good. I'm waving back. Really I am. Honest. It's embarrassing now. Stop it.

The Ethos of the Imagisphere
| Narrator
|
Now I know you're eager to get stuck into all this, but please remember the ethos of the Imagisphere. Create and share and above all have fun! And you know, there's room for more than one U in the word 'fun.' In fact the plural of U, when written down, looks like Us. So there more Us in fun makes fun go further. Fuuuuuuuuuuuuuun. Do you see. Huh? You're confused. How can I explain it more simply. Hmmm?

Yes, yes, yes, yes, yes! Thanks for that old man - I'll take it from here.

Ah! What luck! There's my little chum-to-be, ready to come and help me sort out Bunkum.

Just a simple press of this button and our adventure will begin!

Ah… oh… so… the one on the left… no, if I'm facing it, then… that would be… on the… ahh, yes…
