Battle Of The Airwaves is a Survival Challenge level in LittleBigPlanet 3. It is unlocked by talking to El Jeff in the Bunkum Lagoon hub level, and entering the Level Link that appears next to him.

Overview

The level takes place in an open sky arena, with one of Newton's hot air balloons in the background. A green crosshair loosely follows the player at all times; if it catches up to them, it stops in place momentarily to fire a laser. The laser itself cannot hurt Swoop but it will momentarily stun them.

Over time, coloured antennae will rise up from the clouds; once they reach a certain height, they will begin to shake and release an electrified robobug to chase the player. These robobugs (and the antennae they come from) can be destroyed if the player goads the balloon into blasting them; more points are awarded if an antenna is destroyed before it spawns a robobug.

The challenge ends when the player dies, either by touching one of the robobugs or forgetting how to flap their wings. While the level is an endless survival challenge, El Jeff's quest is marked as completed if the player manages to score 5,000 points, which will unlock the El Jeff Costume and a prize cache in the post-challenge respawn area.
