The Take A Photo Tool is used to take a photo of gameplay in a selected zone.

History

In earlier versions of the original LittleBigPlanet, taking a photo would result in the photo generating a cropped square icon for the photo in popit alongside the regular photo. This had the advantage of making very nice level badges, as using a rectangular photo for them would result in a stretched graphic for the badge. However, the square icons were later removed in an update, likely to save on profile space since it was generating two images per photo taken.

LittleBigPlanet 2 later would force images to be cropped when used as a level badge, fixing the stretching issue and eliminating the need for a square icon to be generated.

Tool Usage

The icon is found at the top of all the pages in the Stickers & Decorations menu, and upon pressing , it will create a movable and scalable frame akin to the Capture Object Tool. Upon pressing again, the frame will start a 3 second countdown and by the end of it take a picture of everything in the frame. The resulted photo wil be put onto My Photos page in the Stickers & Decorations menu.
