Spikes, known as the Bed of Nails in LittleBigPlanet Karting, are sharp, pointy objects that instantly kill the player on contact. Every game has at least one variation of this object.

Whitebox Spikes
Very early versions of the spikes were made out of material.
Glass Spikes
An earlier version of the spikes used glass shards embedded into a cardboard base.
Early Hitbox
Early hitboxes for the spikes have only a small portion at the top of the object with lethal properties, making it so that the sides of the spikes can be touched without dying.
