Collectabells are collectable items introduced in LittleBigPlanet 3. They act as a form of currency that can be spent at Shop Stalls to output a signal.
Usage and Behaviour
Collectabells are placed in a very similar manner to Score Bubbles, being roughly the same size and occupying the same sub-layer. When a player collides with, or passes within two unobstructed layers of a Collectabell, it will disappear and add its value to the total for that level or Adventure. A property that sets them apart from other items is their permanence; the player's Collectabell total will be remembered if they leave the level and return later, and will even be preserved between levels inside an Adventure. Additionally, once collected it will be permanently removed from the level, meaning it can never be collected again unless the creation's save data is deleted from the system's save data utility.
Like Score Bubbles and Prize Bubbles, Collectabells have an input that, when activated with logic, instantly collects it as if the player ran into it themselves. Wired Collectabells cannot be collected by running into them, and must instead receive an ON signal from the object or gadget it's connected to.
The maximum number of Collectabells that can be held per-Adventure at any given time is 32,767, though neither the HUD nor any of the other gadgets abide by this restriction. This means that Shop Stalls set to require 32,768 Collectabells or more will be impossible to activate, and if proper care isn't taken, the number of Collectabells displayed on the HUD can be desynced from the actual total.

Color
In Adventure Mode
In LittleBigPlanet 3's Adventure Mode, Collectabells can be found by exploring the three hub worlds following the Prologue. Many of them can be found lying around the open, though some require specific powerups and characters to reach. Their main use is to buy costumes from Zom Zom's Shop. In the Adventure Mode there are 300 Collectabells in total, 100 for each hub level.
In Sackboy: A Big Adventure
Collectabells return in Sackboy: A Big Adventure, serving the same purpose they did in LittleBigPlanet 3's Adventure Mode. In this game Collectabells will always reappear when a level is reloaded, as opposed to being permanently removed from the world when collected. As well as being found lying on the ground, they can now be earned by defeating enemies, breaking crates and balloons, reaching end-of-level score thresholds and even collected in dedicated bonus levels hosted by Zom Zom. Due to their increased abundance, however, items that can be bought with them are significantly more expensive than before.
