The Character Changer is a gameplay object in LittleBigPlanet 3 that allows players to switch to a different character.

Usage and Behaviour

Character Changers are placed similarly to Checkpoints, occupying the same sub-layer as them. When a player stands within three unobstructed layers in front of a Character Changer, they can press to change from their current character to the character shown in the popup. If the relevant tweak is enabled, they can use the same Character Changer to switch between two different characters, e.g. switching from Sackboy to OddSock and vice-versa.

While the Character Changer is always active by default, it has an input that can be used to trigger it with logic; when it receives a digital ON signal, the player who sent the signal will change characters as if they had activated it themselves. If the signal is not owned by a player, then the Character Changer does nothing. Despite the door remaining closed when a wire is connected to it, the Character Changer can still be used normally by pressing in front of it, even if it's powered off.

Tweaks

Physical Properties: ( Static •‎ Dynamic ) When Static, the object cannot be moved while time is unpaused. When Dynamic, the object can be moved and is subject to gravity.

Character

Character to Spawn As: (Characters; My Characters) Select which character to switch to.

Multiple Characters: ( No •‎ Yes ) If set to Yes, the player can use this Character Changer to switch between two characters.

Character To Change Back To: (Characters; My Characters) Select which character to switch to if the player is already playing as the first character.

Reset Select to reset both of the character slots to Sackboy.

Visuals

Visible in Play Mode: ( No •‎ Yes ) Determines whether or not the object will be rendered in Play Mode.
