A Loop is an unused road type in LittleBigPlanet Karting. They are created with special Loop and Corkscrew tools, and were intended to add spectacle to a Race Track.

Tool Usage

In the Milestone 4 prototype, loops are created using the Advanced Edit Tool. With the tool selected, pressing Left or Right buttons cycles through the different loop styles. In order, the loop styles are: Loop Right, Corkscrew Right, Long Corkscrew Right, Loop Left, Corkscrew Left, and Long Corkscrew Left. The loop can be resized by pressing Up or Down buttons to suit the current stretch of road. Pressing Square button commits the loop onto the track.

Limitations

Loops require a relatively straight stretch of road in order to be created, and must be made out of bridges. In the Milestone 4 prototype, creating a loop will automatically convert the affected section of track into a bridge so that the loop can be created.

Road Properties

Loops function as scripted setpieces on the track. When a kart drives into a loop, it will boost through it at top speed. The player can fire their weapon and strafe with Left stick, but cannot perform other actions until they exit the loop.

If a kart collides with a solid, static wall whilst on a loop, it will instantly explode, respawning near the end of the loop.
