On the Wormpath is the third and final main Eve's Asylum level in LittleBigPlanet Karting. It is an auto-scrolling shooter in which the player must defeat the Giant Firepede left behind by the Hoard.
A departure from the typical racing and battling gameplay, this is one of the few main path story levels to not have a competitive online variant.
Overview
All players ride on the back of Firebugs that automatically move down the track at a variable speed, determined by how far behind the Firepede they are; if a player is lagging behind, their Firebug will speed up to get them back in firing range. Players can strafe with to collect items or dodge hazards, and have an infinite supply of green rockets to shoot at the Firepede. All players share a pool of ten lives, losing one if they get hit (or manually reset with ); the level automatically ends in failure when the life counter reaches 0, or if the Firepede remains undefeated after 3 minutes and 30 seconds.
The Firepede boss is comprised of six body segments, plus the head. Its main weak spots are the glowing circles on the back of each segment, which become brighter as they take damage. When a segment is destroyed, it bleeds a trail of green goo that kills the player on contact; after four segments have been destroyed, it will occasionally drop a puddle of green goo to get in the player's way.
Separately, there are also 12 smaller spots the player can hit, which spawn Score Bubbles when destroyed.
The Firepede follows the same track as the player, but there are several stone paths it can take to avoid fire, or circle behind for an attack. Occasionally, it will spawn fire eggs at either side to get in the player's way, but these can be destroyed by shooting it.
