THE CAT BURGLAR is a community level created by user candyjunky and initially published on LittleBigPlanet. The level follows the player as they investigate the disappearance of a town's cats. The level was featured in LittleBigPlanet's Game of the Year Edition exclusive Community Levels page.

Overview

Plot overview

After five pet cats suddenly go missing around town, the player investigates their disappearances by venturing into the home of the town's newest resident. The cats are found locked inside cages belonging to the lady of the house; the burglar's butler guides the player through the house's dangers. Once inside her bedroom, the player faces off against the cat burglar, defeating her and stealing the key to the five cages scattered around her house. The player frees the cats and returns them to their owners.

Walkthrough guide

Walking right from the entrance leads through the town and up to the cat burglar's house. Once inside the house, the player must climb through its upper stories, killing rats by stomping on their brains. Once at the top floor, a Paintinator can be equipped at the checkpoint to fight back against the cat burglar. The burglar stays at the far-right end of the room, constantly moving back and forth while shooting electric "hair pins" in the player's direction; shooting the cat burglar depletes her health. Once the cat burglar's health is fully depleted, she dissolves, opening the way to a grabbable key surrounded by score bubbles. The key can be dragged to the bottom of the house, where moving it by metal cages causes them to open, revealing the prize bubbles inside. Leaving the house and heading to the left leads to the scoreboard, where additional score bubbles can be collected along the way.
