The Creative Zone, also known as Chi, was a special material planned for the original LittleBigPlanet which would have allowed players to use certain Create Mode tools in Play Mode.
Overview
When standing on a piece of Creative Zone, the player gains access to some, but not all Create Mode tools; they could use the Popit Cursor to pick up and move certain glowing objects (but not scale or delete them), or create new objects.
The ability to create objects would be been restricted by the amount of Resource they had collected; code present in gamedata/data/poppet_settings.pop suggests that each material would have different Resource costs associated with them, though they are all set to 1 in the final game. Stickers and Decorations were not planned to cost anything, and so could be used for free.
Creative Zone's functionality was removed from the final game, though the idea of using Create Mode tools in Play Mode would eventually be revisited in LittleBigPlanet 3, in the form of the Popit Powerup.
