To do: Document differences from the final game, including:
- Level differences. From what I've seen, there is a bug in this version of Self Defence where the Leader Seekers spawn too frequently, making it impossible to get a good score.
- There are scrapped trophies related to collecting Prize Bubbles, similar to what the other games have.
- I'm pretty sure some of the music is different, but I haven't had a chance to check the audio files.
The LittleBigPlanet Karting Sample Code is a preview build of LittleBigPlanet Karting for the PlayStation 3. It was included as part of a press kit sent to journalists in order to promote both LittleBigPlanet Karting and LittleBigPlanet PS Vita.
The build is dated August 1, 2012, placing it about a month after the Public Beta and about seven weeks before the final build.
Overview
The demo allows players to choose from a small pool of costumes and karts (though only complete ensembles can be selected), and features three playable levels: Turtle Island, Current Events, and Monster Trucks.
Comparisons
- As with other public demo versions, a watermark is displayed in the bottom right of the screen at all times.
- While the game will attempt to use the console's language (if available), the Settings menu contains a 'Select Language' option that forces the game's language to either English or German.
- The majority of cinematics are disabled in this build. This includes all of the pre/post race cutscenes, the company logos, and the tutorial videos that pop up in Karting Lessons.
