A Big Adventure is the first level in Sackboy: A Big Adventure, and the first level that Sackboy visits after starting a new save file. Serving as an analogue to the Introduction levels of past games, it is largely a safe space for players to figure out the gameplay and controls, with stage hazards being virtually nonexistent and enemies only appearing in the back half. Clearing this level unlocks both the World Map and the path to Cold Feat.
In development, this level was known as "Once Upon A Climb".
Layout
The level takes place in a sunny eastern village populated by large, cardboard yetis. The level begins with a cutscene of the Pod dropping Sackboy off in a fabric field, with a circular platform and a ramp on the right leading to the first set of Bounce Pads, which launch Sackboy up to two roofs at different elevations. The top route features a balloon and two tight ropes with timed Score Bubble chains, with another balloon waiting on the other side. Below this, a wooden red bridge with a timed Score Bubble trail as an alternate route. Following this is an area that introduces smackable Screws, with one on a rotating platform that awards 3 Collectabells when dislodged, and another raising a wooden platform when hit. To the right is a red ramp that leads to the first cannon.
Taking the cannon leads to a garden with throwable seeds and plant pots. This is then followed by a small street area guarded by a pack of Grunties, with two buildings connected by tight ropes. After this is a more open area with spinning, grabbable wheels. Further ahead is a staircase of blue Bounce Pads leading to the second cannon that takes players to the final area. On arrival, a cutscene plays where Scarlet introduces Dreamer Orbs and explains how they are used to dispel the Uproar, after which the Scoreboard drops down from the sky.

Collectables
Prize Bubbles
- Monk Robes: Near the beginning is a tight rope accessible by jumping onto the first purple roof. Crossing the tight rope will reward the player with the Monk Robes.
- Small Wave: On the rooftop to the left of the smackable bolted platform, jumping up on top of the picnic basket reveals a yeti in a hot air balloon, who leaves behind the Small Wave emote and five Collectabells when approached.
- Piñata Back End: In front of the fourth Checkpoint is an archway containing the Pinata Torso costume piece and a Bounce Pad up to the roof.
Dreamer Orb
The only Dreamer Orb in A Big Adventure is awarded after watching a cutscene at the end of the level. It is possible to avoid collecting it by rolling off the stage immediately after regaining control, however, the player cannot progress without it, as an Uproar barrier on the world map requires this Dreamer Orb to dispell.
Big Collectabells
To the right of the first cannon is a ledge up to the rooftop. Crossing the tight rope rewards the player with a Big Collectabell.
The next Big Collectabell can be found near the start of the second half of the level. On the rightmost roof, using one of the balloons to bounce up to the upper ledge reveals a Grunty and the second Big Collectabell.
