Player Color
Player Colors, also known as Popit Colors, are a customization option intended to help differentiate players in multiplayer. They mainly affect the user's Popit, and by extension their user interface, though certain costume pieces will also change to match the wearer's primary Player Color. In later games, some tweakable objects can also be set to copy the Player Color of whichever player activates it.
Each Player Color is a palette comprised of multiple colors, with their usage varying depending on the game.
History
LittleBigPlanet (PlayStation 3)
In the original LittleBigPlanet, there are 13 Player Colors with IDs ranging from 0-12. Each Player Color consists of a Primary, Secondary, and Tertiary color, which are used in the following manner:
- Primary: Menu backgrounds, adaptive costume pieces
- Secondary: Menu highlights
- Tertiary: Popit Item

Only the first twelve IDs are selectable in-game through normal means. A thirteenth all-black Player Color exists, though it uses the LAMS entry for Yellow & Fuchsia, as that color replaced the black color from early builds.

LittleBigPlanet 2
LittleBigPlanet 2 has twelve Player Colors to pick from, replacing the existing ones. Unlike in the original LittleBigPlanet, these are now given to the player via scripts. A fourth color was added for text emphasis, and the usage of the Primary, Secondary and Tertiary colors also changed.
- Primary: Menu backgrounds, adaptive costume pieces, player ownership
- Secondary: Menu accents, tooltips
- Tertiary: Menu highlights
- Emphasis: Emphasized text, i.e. when a string of text is surrounded by
<em></em>tags.
In addition, the hex color format was changed so that the Alpha value was positioned at the start, rather than the end.

While the number of colors in each palette remained the same, their usage changed once again.
