Monkey Puzzle Tree is a survival challenge in the Bazaar, named after the real life tree of the same name. It is unlocked by collecting the Level Key at the end of High on Rugs.
Overview
This level takes place in a Persian garden, and sees Sackboy at the base of a tree with four monkeys on its branches. The monkeys drop Score Bubbles that can be collected for points, as well as electrified apples that kill the player on contact. Once Sackboy enters the pit, the entrance moves over to the right in preperation for the player's inevitable defeat.
Monkey Behaviour
To do: Load this level in Create Mode and check the Emitters to get the exact timings.
The four monkeys throw items down at an arc, with bubbles being more frequent than apples. An apple despawns after 8 seconds, while bubbles only stick around for about 7 seconds.
The monkeys at the top are stationary, while the lower two trundle back and forth on their branches. The monkeys on either side of the tree will throw apples and bubbles with different hands; the monkeys on the left side throw bubbles with their right hands, and apples from their left; the opposite is true for those on the right side.
At the start, only the top two monkeys can throw apples, with the bottom two only throwing bubbles. Eventually, lower two monkeys will start throwing apples as well.
