Overview
The Assign Ownership gadget is a removed logic piece used to assign Player Ownership of items like logic, hazardous items, and checkpoints. It's primarily intended to be used with the unused gameplay mode called Team Mode, as it will switch the team ownership of any item that uses the Team Filter tweak.
While assigning ownership exists as a function in retail LBP2, it's only used to assign player color as Team Mode was scrapped. As an alternative to the ownership gadget, switches set to use player color can be used to assign ownership in a similar fashion.
Usage and Behaviour
The Gadget only has one input, and no tweak options. It can be placed on something that uses either the Player Color or Team Mode tweaks, and will assign ownership when activated.
Placing it on something with Player Color will change the color to the activating player's color, and placing it on an object with Team Mode options will switch the owning team to the activating player's team.
Internal References
The gadget uses the script "assignownership.ff" and sets ownership via player number.
