A '''Grunty''' is a common enemy that appears in ''[[Sackboy: A Big Adventure]]''. They can spawn as individuals, or in totem-like stacks comprised of multiple Grunties. They are the very first enemy the player encounters, appearing half-way through [[A Big Adventure]].

==Behaviour==
When left to their own devices, Grunties will typically stand in place or patrol an area, chasing players that come within range. They can only harm the player by head butting them; simply touching one will not immediately deal damage. They are among the easiest enemies to dispatch in the game, and can be defeated by jumping on their head or by slapping them. They can also be stunned by rolling or spinning into them, at which point they can be carried and thrown.

Grunties do not receive bespoke themed variants for any of the game's worlds, however, starting with [[Ready Yeti Go]], they can sometimes appear in stacks of three or more, with the topmost one jumping off to chase the player when they get close.

===Pathfinding===
If Sackboy enters a Grunty's line of sight, or gets close enough to trigger its "sixth sense", it will be alerted to his presence and give chase.

If the player leaves its awareness radius, it will shrug and then return to its idle state. If it is set to patrol a path, it will attempt to make its way to the closest point on its path.

If a Grunty encounters an interactive object — such as a [[Crate]], [[Wobble Blob]] or [[Slap Bolt]] — while in pursuit of Sackboy, it will headbutt the object to try and get rid of it. It will not attempt to attack an object if it is idly patrolling an area, however.
