Bruce first refers to The Mystic in Gift of the Grab, challenging the player to a trek to the top of the elder's domain where he is waiting with a special mission. At the climb's finish, the Mystic claims that such a sackperson will indeed be the one to complete his request. The Mystic brings the player into the Dreamtime, allowing the mystical voices of magic to instruct the player to gather the caretakers of LittleBigPlanet to a great Carnival of Creators. At the end of the sequence, The Mystic bids farewell with a small instruction to detach from a Jetpack.

The Mystic appears one final time in Road to Joy, at the Carnival of Creators, joking that the Big Croc on his carnival float will have a decoration for the player's own personal float in his stomach.

General information

Physical appearance

The Mystic is a large, dark-skinned man who is always seen sitting cross-legged, and has the appearance of an Australian Aboriginal elder. He has a short, stocky build with a bulbous gut, and a blue cloth covers his lower half. His face is framed by a grand, geometric white beard and a long kangaroo-bone piercing that juts from his big nose. He wears a red headband that holds back his thick, blocky, stylized black hair. His face is marked with white body paint, and he bears white aboriginal tattoos on his arms and chest.

Personality

Like many characters, The Mystic does not have much of a distinctive personality. He is otherwise well meaning and alluded to as omniscient to some capacity.

"Bruce was right, you show great promise. Perhaps you are the one who can help me..." - The Mystic upon meeting Sackboy at his mountain peak.
