Overview
Kareem Ettouney was the Art Director for both the original LittleBigPlanet and LittleBigPlanet 2, and helped found the studio.
Kareem designed much of the concept art for early stages of the game, alongside concept art for the background environments.
Most of his concept art is painted by hand on real canvas.
Contributions
One of his notable roles in early LittleBigPlanet development was what was known as the "Kareem test". As Kengo Kurimioto explained,

...So we had we had something called the "Kareem test" ... Kareem's not a great player and it would really highlight the stuff where we made it too hard, and so that's quite an important thing because, obviously, when you're sitting playing the game all day every day for years, you get pretty good at it, so having that external perspective - and Kareem was our favorite - can this level survive the Kareem test?
