The Scientist makes his first appearance in LittleBigPlanet, where he shows up in the second level of the [[The Wilderness | Wilderness]], [[The Bunker]]. A capable inventor, the Scientist was kidnapped by the Collector and forced to construct dangerous machines responsible for containing the stolen creations. Upon being found and freed by [[Sackboy]], the Scientist warns him to beware of his own creations.

The Scientist, despite not explicitly appearing anywhere in LittleBigPlanet 2's story mode, appeared in multiple early pieces of concept art for the game, implying he was meant to be a recurring character.
