			The Mines begins at the entrance to the mineshaft, where two Aztec Spiky enemies block the way just past the [[Close-Level Post \| close-level post]]; jumping on their [[Creature Pieces#Creature Brain \| creature brains]] destroys them. Over a small gap of fire is another ''Aztec Spiky'', but bouncing off its creature brain is the only means of gaining enough height to reach two [[Prize Bubble \| prize bubbles]] on the ledge above. Before descending past two rotating sponges, jumping the gap between them earns a prize bubble and leads to another prize bubble and a [[Sticker Sensor \| sticker switch]] activated with the [[Canyons Stickers \| Angry Skull]] [[sticker]]; activating the switch releases three prize bubbles.

			Grabbing onto the right rotating sponge leads up to a prize bubble hanging by a [[Joint Connectors#String \| string]], and another prize bubble can be found on the right-most part of the minecart platform. The following section is automated, where pressing a [[button]] in on the platform causes [[Explosives#Trigger Explosive \| trigger explosives]] to clear a blockage and release minecarts. Riding a minecart to the bottom leads to the second minecart section just past two more Aztec Spiky enemies. The second minecart section hides a prize bubble in its shaft and doubles as a x2 multi-player puzzle. A [[Lever Switches \| 2-way switch]] raises and lowers a [[Joint Connectors#Winch \| winch]]-connected bridge, which must be lowered to allow the minecarts to progress over an otherwise unclearable gap. However, if a second player stands on the tip of the bridge while another pulls the switch to raise it, enough height can be gained to collect an out-of-reach prize bubble. Completing the puzzle normally involves lowering the bridge and using a minecart as a platform to reach a higher ledge.

			The following section involves pulling a 2-way switch to clear carts full of [[Flame Tool \| fire]]. Pulling the switch opens the hatch on both the cart above and below, and timing it allows a falling prize bubble to be collected, while also clearing the way forward. Just past the cart is chain platform that elevates to reach a prize bubble, as well as a branching path. Taking the aforementioned top cart to the left reveals a prize bubble and a sticker switch activated with the [[Canyons Stickers \| Red Explosives]] sticker to unlock three prize bubbles. The top path is blocked by two ''Jumping Wrestlers'' that can be destroyed by popping the creature brain under them when they jump. A big platform booster sends players flying across an arc of [[Score Bubble \| score bubbles]] and a single prize bubble to an elevated platform, where pulling out a pin drops an [[Explosives#Impact Explosive \| impact explosive]] to clear the path forward.

			Before making yet another descent, over a small gap is a single prize bubble. Clearing another explosive blockage with a button leads to a long minecart section. Leading up to the minecart's downwards path is a prize bubble that can only be grabbed within a small window of time by jumping off the minecart's platform. Three chain platforms must be ridden to avoid the fire, with a prize bubble able to be obtained while jumping between the second and third chains. Once at the bottom, just past a [[Race Gates#Start Gate \| start gate]] begins a two-minute-long race involving the use of timed explosives to clear paths. Pressing a button just past the start gate drops timed explosives, of which one can be pulled back past the start gate to clear a blockage and reveal three prize bubbles. Proceeding to the left normally, a wall containing a single prize bubble can be blown up. Jumping two pits of [[spikes]] leads to a second button which activates three trigger explosives to lower a ramp upwards to a prize bubble, as well as a third button that creates a final ramp up to a minecart. The minecart has both a button and a trigger explosive on it and can be pushed to the right and activated clear a blockage and unlock two prize bubbles. Continuing to the left like normal leads to the [[Race Gates#Finish Gate \| finish gate]] and a path downward.

			Automated minecarts will periodically drive out of an opening and must be ridden to avoid the fire ahead. While the minecart ride is automated, jumping at the right time earns both a [[Level Key \| key]] and a prize bubble. Past a ''Spikehammer Block'' and a [[checkpoint]] are rotating sponges moving in clockwise and counterclockwise directions; two prize bubbles can be obtained throughout this section. While most of the sponges are safe to ride around their rotation, some pull players down into the fire below. Next is a timing-oriented minecart challenge, where one minecart must be left during the end of its run to grab and swing to another, earning a prize bubble in the process.
