			LittleBigPlanet Generator was originally developed by Agency Republic with the license of the European branch of Sony Computer Entertainment (SCEE), and was designed by Ascio Technologies Incorporated. The game made use of PaperVision3D, which was an open source 3D graphics engine for Adobe Flash Player and Adobe AIR. The website was released somewhere in September of 2008, a month before LittleBigPlanet's original release in October of the same year, as a way to promote the upcoming video game. In the website itself, you'd be met with a video game where the player could customize a Sackboy character with a limited selection of items that would be later released on the main video game by Media Molecule. In May 2011, the website, as well as its operations, ceased to exist completely, with the domain ''mysackboy.littlebigplanet.com'' redirecting to the main PlayStation Europe website as of June of that same year. The domain was officially closed later that year.

			A possible sequel to LittleBigPlanet Generator was revealed through concept artworks by product designer Cam Macbeth through Behance<ref>https://www.behance.net/gallery/6183161/Sony-Little-BIG-Planet-2-Sackboy-Generator</ref>, in late 2012. His post showcased concept art of a possible new version of LittleBigPlanet Generator, made to promote ''[[LittleBigPlanet 2]]'', as well as having new features like Facebook implementation. This concept art also showcased that users who shared their creations would enter a giveaway to have the chance to win a Sackboy toy, as well as a Sony BRAVIA television and a PlayStation 3 system. It is unknown whether this website was actually real or if it stayed as just a concept.
